2019 Mahindra XUV500 Revealed
This family SUV has been given a thorough refresh for 2019, complete with a new range-topping variant called the W10.
Mahindra has unveiled its new XUV500 SUV, complete with a redesigned rear end and a new range-topping W10 variant.
Up front, the XUV500 has a new grille with chrome highlights and a bigger chrome surround for greater presence on the road, while there are fresh daytime running lights and redesigned headlamps.
Nestled within the lower front bumper, which now features a squarer design and a silver bash plate, are a set of fresh fog lights. There's more chrome along the side of the car, too, although the changes are subtle.
The biggest changes have been wrought down back, where Mahindra has given the XUV500 a new tailgate, new taillights and a bigger roof-mounted rear spoiler. Unlike the old car, the redesigned XUV500 gets horizontal taillights, working with a new bumper, twin pipes and black scuff plates.
Both the W6 and W10 ride on alloy wheels, and have standard kit like cruise control, a reach-adjustable steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights, along with fully automatic climate control.
On the W6 and W10, Mahindra has added hill hold, hill descent control, and ESP with rollover mitigation.
The range-topping W10 gets a 7.0-inch infotainment system with factory navigation, Bluetooth and USB phone connectivity, and a sound system from Arkamys. It also gets charge points in the front two rows, 'ice-blue lounge lighting', tyre pressure monitoring, folding mirrors and a reversing camera.
It also has an electric sunroof, leather seat trim, keyless entry and start, and illuminated scuff plates. Boot space is 702L with the third row folded, and the car will tow 2.5 tons with a braked trailer.
Power comes from a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-petrol engine making 103kW and 320Nm, put to the road through a six-speed automatic. Servicing happens every 12 months/10,000km. The Mahindra XUV500 is available to test drive at your nearest Group 1 Mahindra dealership.
